At TJM, I led the redesign of the organization’s Logo and brochure to improve clarity, accessibility, and visual consistency.
As the only designer at TJM, I had to collaborate with the director to understand TJM’s message. I studied their history and past branding. When beginning my logo design, I researched other jail ministry programs and their identity.
The most impactful part of my time at TJM was designing a new logo for the nonprofit. I focused on themes of hope and connection, exploring linked letterforms and a subtle reinterpretation of the original open door concept.
I was also tasked with redesigning a brochure for volunteers. I started with natural forms to provide a more friendly and inviting message to contrast the harsh prison system that the jail ministry deals with. You can see hope represented in the contrast between dark, contemplative blue and warm yellow. It is also evident in the yellow stroke emerging from layers of blue.
